Allods Online astral ship FAQ

 here are some commonly asked questions about Astral Ships and the Astral answered! If you have a question, feel free to reply! We’ll attempt to answer!



Can you attack your own faction’s ships to be greedy for treasure? Currently undecided. If you can do so, it will be out in the Deep Astral.
What level do I have to be? You start building at level 35. One of the building quests requires level 38. You need to be at least 35 (recommended 40) to board.
What does ‘allod’ mean? An allod is a land mass/island.
Can you self destruct your ship? Yes! I pressed the button myself! =D
We died. :[. And the ship blew up! Big bang!
Can you board enemy ships? Yes! That is why your group must work together! You don’t want the enemy to get to your booty! If you don’t pay attention your enemy can literally walk in and out with your treasure without a fight. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lovestruck.gif) .
When you see an enemy ship, does your ship automatically go up to it or have an auto pilot? No. It does not. Hope your group can work together to get it parked nice and close and your helmsmen can keep your main weapons facing the ship you want to board/attack!
What happens if you ‘accidentally’ jump off into the Astral from the ship? You die. But you get resurrected in the infirmary. With each death you will have more downtime
Are there really goblin mechanics? Yes! And they're bigger then they look!
Do ships become more powerful with time? Yes! When you get treasure you have to take it back to your Astral Hanger and it needs to clear through the customs. After this you can see the loot. The loot can be ship upgrades, even player gear or sometimes other things! Game Master Haz assures us that it is a good mixture. Some upgrades can be to the shields, some to faster cannons, or even more powerful things for the ship!
What color is the Astral? A gray/black/purple hue. Closer to an allod it can be blue.
How many players does it take to run an Astral Ship? Well, let’s break it down piece by piece. These are the minimum recommended by many Russian players.
Helm: 1-2 Players.
Gunners: 2-4 Players.
Navigator: 1 Player
Many recommend twelve players. I did get the chance to talk to a few russian players and it seems that guilds and groups commonly have different setups. Astral Ships have the potential of beating a lot of games in ‘raid content’. Many guilds develop tactics, and try out new things. This is going to be likely in Allods Online. It’ll be a long time before we see a ’standard’ makeup.
